The Silk Road Gallery was founded in 2001. The beginning of the 2000s coincided with the rise of photography in Iran. The press gained more freedom and the articles were printed with images. Artistic photography was taking a new shape and a new dynamic emerged in the world of art. The establishment of Silk Road Gallery at this time was a means to introduce Iran’s brilliant photography to its audience.
